Vicetone feat. Kat Nestel – No Way Out [January 19 – Spinnin’ Records]

2015 is bound to be an even more fruitful year for the Dutch duo known as Vicetone. A placement at #36 in the 2014 DJ Mag polls became the crowning achievement on top of tracks like “United We Dance” and “Heat,” and they are aiming to start the new year with a new track. “No Way Out” is their next tune, and features Kat Nestel on vocals. Listeners receive their first introduction to the track as a part of the annual Spinnin’ Records “Night Mix” in preparation for the Amsterdam Dance Event. With Dyro, Martin Garrix, and Nicky Romero already coming out in support, Vicetone looks to make a flashy entrance to 2015 with “No Way Out,” coming on January 19.

The emphasis during the break lies squarely on the vocals, with a very simple and subtle instrumental in the background. As the verse progresses, there are a few more nuances added, including a little more on the low end and percussion. The course then breaks into the foreground, and a powerful and piano-dominated chord progression shows the amazing combined talents of both Vicetone and Kat Nestel. The buildup follows immediately, and uses repeating snares and pitch bends to build suspense. The drop  keeps the vibe going, as a piano-lead top line merges terrifically with another huge Vicetone bassline to make “No Way Out” the perfect tune to start 2015 with.
