Blasterjaxx & DBSTF – Beautiful World [January 5 – Revealed Recordings]

The genre lines continue to be blurred in the dance music industry, as two big names in the fields of big-room house and hardstyle have come together for a huge hit to start 2015. It comes in the form of “Beautiful World,” the collective brainchild of Dutch duos Blasterjaxx and DBSTF. This clash of genres follows on the heels of two collaborations between W&W and Headhunterz that showed the potential for success in the “hard-house” sphere. The Blasterjaxx are fresh off the release of “You Found Me” on Spinnin’ Records, while DBSTF just dropped “Rocking With The Best” together with Deepack. “Beautiful World” Will be released on Revealed Recordings on January 5.

It’s actually a little bit surprising how the breakdown starts, since emotional female vocals and a mellow piano does not exactly fit the reputations of Blasterjaxx nor DBSTF. The vocalist soon hits the chorus, and there is still no sign of the typical sounds from these artists, just a simple acoustic guitar. Then, it hits you: a powerful melody comes out of the background and combines with the vocals for a certain type of musical euphoria that can only be felt. The mood then changes as the buildup gets going, and you can hear the electro and hardstyle making its way in. There is a quick vocal sample, and then the madness really begins. A modified hardstyle/big-room kick combined with razor-sharp hardstyle leads takes “Beautiful World” to new heights.
