Martin Garrix‘s Facebook likes officially rival the population of a small island nation. The 18-year-old reached 10 million likes on the social media outlet earlier this week, and released a free track to celebrate. The track he dropped is the long-awaited “Forbidden Voices,” and features a very different sound from his previous releases. Gone is the booming bass kick and percussive drop that brought him to fame, but instead, a light-hearted indie dance vibe controls the sound. A sampled vocal is chopped up and pitched to create a unique melody. That melody also influences the drop, which is just as strong as the melody. Overall, this offering from Martin Garrix is nothing short of impressive, and the change in style only shows how well rounded of a producer he truly is.
