Sebastian Ingrosso – Dark River (Axwell Remode) [Refune Music]

Ever since the release of the festival version last week, fans have been clamoring for the Axwell remode of his partner Sebastian Ingrosso‘s recent hit, “Dark River”. Those same fans have been awaiting the Swedish house wizard’s elusive ID track from Miami Music week in 2008, and they get to kill two birds with one stone. The original version of “Dark River” brought intensity in all facets, but Axwell tones things down to really make this into a musical journey. The first drop is very stripped down, composed of just drums and a few of the elements that carry over from the original. Axwell continuously works different nuances into the remode in the first drop, keeping the sound dynamic. He introduces a melody in the breakdown that is a little bit all over the place, and combines it with the chorus that remains largely unchanged. Axwell really works his magic in the second drop, as his slick melody matches perfectly with the overall vibe that the original provided. As a duo, Axwell Λ Ingrosso are tough to beat, but one must not forget the solo talents that they each possess. This Axwell remode really shows off his touch, and his knack for creating huge tracks year after year.
