Hardwell & Thomas Newson – 8Fifty [Revealed Recordings]

Big-room DJs everywhere now have a new piece of ammunition, thanks to “8Fifty” from Hardwell and Thomas Newson.

Earlier this year, these two traversed North America with Kill The Buzz for the Revealed North American Bus Tour, and the result is “8Fifty”. It seems like the bus is a great place to produce, as previous bus tours have also resulted in collaborations. This track is also on the listing for the Revealed Volume 7 compilation.

The first breakdown is a set of bare bones percussion and a reggae vocal hyping the drop. Rising synths and rolling percussion trigger a powerful buildup towards a high-octane big-room drop. That drop hits hard with a pounding bassline and screaming high-pitched synths. The energy really is incredible. Moving onward, the middle breakdown showcases more musicality from the two Dutchmen, as they lure the listener in with a calmer set of synths. They then go right back to that reggae vocal in the build, before dropping into more big-room fire on “8Fifty”.
