Zedd Announces “Welcome!” Concert to Benefit ACLU
It feels as if the United States is any state of constant political turmoil after the election of President Donald Trump, and his subsequent executive order on immigration. Producer/DJ Zedd has teamed up with the American Civil Liberties Union for a fundraising concert known as “Welcome!” April 3 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
Zedd stated through Facebook that as an immigrant, he felt the need to act in response to Trump’s order. He recruited an impressive crop of artists for Phase One of the concert (in alphabetical order): Daya, Halsey, Imagine Dragons, Incubus, Macklemore, Skrillex and Tinashe.
“This is about COMING TOGETHER for a good cause – not about ego, billing or set times,” Zedd said in the same statement on Facebook. “One thing everybody has in common: we all want to help!”
The Facebook post stated that full details and information on tickets will come next Thursday, February 9.

The controversy continued because many other predominantly Muslim countries with ties to Trump’s businesses were left off the list. There has been plentiful debate over the executive order in recent days, and many public spaces (especially airports) have been venues of protest.
