Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Put Their Spin on Pirates of the Caribbean Theme

Here’s a collaboration you probably didn’t expect: world-famous composer Hans Zimmer and Belgian DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.

As the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise comes to a close this year with Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the brothers put their spin on the franchises unmistakable theme song. The remix, titled “He’s A Pirate,” will be on the movie soundtrack as the sole bonus track. This soundtrack will be released this Friday, May 26.

The idea for the remix came from Disney, and the Belgian brothers jumped on the opportunity. This remix marks their second high-profile reworking of the year, after taking on “Something Just Like This” from The Chainsmokers and Coldplay. The duo has also remixed the likes of Lady Gaga and Major Lazer.

The remix leaves the epic sounds of the original largely untouched, adding in extra synths and then culminates with a fast-paced drop dripping in uplifting energy.
