Don Diablo & CID Join Forces Again On “Prototype” For Protocol Recordings
This duo is back again just two months after releasing on Protocol for the first time. After their successful collaborative remix for Don Diablo‘s own track “Give It All” reached as high as #12 on the progressive house charts, they’ve returned with another huge track, titled “Prototype”. Don Diablo‘s name has been in the news lately because of his release with Matt Nash, titled “Starlight (Could You Be Mine),” released on Axtone just two weeks ago. CID has been busy working in the studio on this track, and others.
“Prototype” features an acid-house feel, which is a big style change in comparison to the “Give It All” remix. The melody plays over a dark bassline, with carefully placed vocal samples adding to the sound. As the song progresses, more vocals are added, and more elements to the melody give the tune a more dynamic vibe. As the drop approaches, the vocals start to breakdown, and we are enveloped by the acid sound.
The track was first introduced during Tomorrowland by Nicky Romero, and was played during the B2B2B set with Afrojack, David Guetta, and Nicky Romero. Expect to hear this song at many of Nicky’s upcoming shows, especially at EZoo5 (in less than a month!). “Prototype” will be released on August 26 via Protocol Recordings.
