In 2024, City Splash Festival launched ‘Rise Up’, a programme championing outstanding emerging artists from the Caribbean. Taking place in both London and the Caribbean, Rise Up offers selected artists a one-week residency where they will perform at City Splash, take part in a songwriter camp with leading producers and songwriters, media exposure including interviews with radio and press, performance opportunities at music industry events including SXSW London, professional development workshops and a wrap-up video with footage of each artists time on the Rise Up programme.
The 2025 cohort of emerging artists taking part in the Rise Up programme includes the multi-talented artist Jaz Elise (Kingston, Jamaica); alternative Reggae artist Nesta (New York, Jamaican Heritage), roots reggae musician Ras-I (Kingston, Jamaica); sought-after young talent Runkus (Kingston, Jamaica); reggae artist elevatetoday (Born in Jamaica raised in Manchester); and the South London raised singer-songwriter Savannah Dumetz (Jamaican heritage).
Reggae, Dancehall and Afrobeats influence on youth culture in London runs deep, and City Splash works to give those genres the prominent place they deserve on the annual live music calendar in London and internationally. Join City Splash, the home of culture, as it transforms Brockwell Park into a celebration of Caribbean and African music and culture like no other.
