Tiga – FRICTION [Turbo]
Time for some non-fiction. The human condition: that’s pure “FRICTION.” It costs a million dollars just to stay alive. Play it cool, feel the vibe. In his latest offering out March 13, Tiga departs from his signature quick-fire hooks, opting for a more relaxed approach as he frames the collective feeling of the tricky times in which we’re all living. “Too much friction, too much tension… I need some of your attention,” proclaims Tiga on the track.
For decades now, club culture has served as an escape from the day-to-day grind for so many dancers around the world, and “FRICTION” is an ode to dance music’s continued ability to lighten the load. Tiga has always had a knack for threading the middle ground between lighthearted tones and heavy emotion, and “FRICTION” is the latest example of his tried-and-true studio mastery.
“FRICTION” was co-written by Jesper Dahlbäck and Priori, with additional production from Patrick Holland. Following the long-awaited “ECSTACY SURROUNDS ME,” the Fcukers collab “SILK SCARF,” and his link-up with Boys Noise on “HOT WIFE,” “FRICTION” serves as the final pre-release single from HOTLIFE, Tiga’s first album in a decade. Scheduled for 17 April 2026, as a collaborative release via Montreal’s Turbo Recordings and Secret City Records, the project will also contain features from Boys Noize, Fcukers, Maara, and MRD.
