White Claw + Defected launch FIND YOUR PEOPLE – a social experiment in Ibiza
This National Friendship Day 2026, White Claw and Defected Records are launching Find Your People – a first-of-its-kind social experiment designed to prove that the dancefloor has the power to turn strangers into lifelong friends. Working with social community app Cliq, 10 like-minded strangers will be recruited and flown to Ibiza for 24 hours to put the theory to the test. For house music fans looking for a one-of-a-kind music experience, this is your chance to be part of it.
At a time when stories of the loneliness epidemic continue to hit our headlines, Find Your People links into White Claw’s wider mission to fight the friendship recession – aiming to create 50,000 new friendships this summer. Find Your People is here to ask one simple question – Can dance music create connections that last a lifetime?
Participants will attend a White Claw x Defected villa takeover – soundtracked by a cast of Defected Record’s finest selectors – Defected and Mas Tiempo family DJammin b2b with Dutch breakout talent Joëlla Jackson. Guests will then head to Chinois Ibiza for a night with global institution brand Defected. Here, friendships and connections will be documented to see if a love of raving, dancing and Ibiza itself can create that lasting link. For more information on how to take part, see below or head to this link.
Everyone who has ever returned to Ibiza understands one thing: you don’t go back JUST for the party – you go back for your people. For decades, the island has created friendships, communities and memories that last after the final track – the club space has long been a vital connection point for friendships. Defected Records is the perfect place to explore the theory – the party has been at the heart of Ibiza’s story for over two decades, cementing its position as a global powerhouse in dance music. Since 2003, the label has been a mainstay of the island’s scene and a firm favourite among clubbers worldwide, with iconic residencies at some of Ibiza’s most legendary venues and a lasting influence on the island’s culture.
Against the backdrop of a friendship recession – where the number of adults with no close friends has quadrupled, while those with ten or more close friends have fallen by almost threefold* – White Claw is investing in connection – aiming to create 50,000 new friendships. By bringing people together around the things they love, whether that’s raving or LARPing, the brand is creating moments to spark genuine relationships. In partnership with Cliq, the campaign uses technology-driven matchmaking to explore how digital innovation can encourage meaningful offline connections. Rather than replacing real-world interaction, the initiative champions a more positive vision of technology – one that helps build community.
Applications are open from 30 July to 13 August 2026 and are open to UK residents aged 25+. To enter, you’ll first need to join Cliq, then upload a short video telling us:
- Why do you want to Find Your People in Ibiza?
- What does house music mean to you?
- What would your ideal 24 hours in Ibiza look like?
We’re looking for people who love house music and Ibiza culture, and who are excited to document and share their experience throughout the social experiment. The 10 successful participants will be matched through Cliq before travelling to Ibiza and will be notified by 20 August. Participants must be available to travel during the first week of September.
