Looking Back At ADE – Day Two: Poesjes & Katers By Lady Bee

Past Sunday the Dutch madness called Amsterdam Dance Event ended the last day of this year. After five days of big events, important conferences and a lot of meetings, it’s time to recover and look back at the ADE. We visited several events on 4 of the 5 days and will provide a recap on every day. Starting today with the second day of ADE, Thursday October 17. We attended Poesjes & Katers by Lady Bee and it was quite an experience.

Location
NYX initially is a gay club, but luckily straight people are just as welcome. The acceptation of gay people in the Netherlands is quite high and it’s good that those clubs are still standing. Outside hangs a rainbow-colored flag, showing that everyone is welcome. But let’s go back to the inside of the club. The NYX consists of three floors, each floor offering a different style of music, which gives one the opportunity to experience several atmospheres during one night. The special toilet-stage is quite unique with no distinction between boys and girls.

Line Up
The organisation provided the visitors with nothing less than three stages and a various amount of dj’s. Big names that play all around the world like Kenneth G, D-Wayne, Vato Gonzalez & Stefan Vilijn, but also producers who stand at the top in the Netherlands. Think of Lady Bee herself, Dyna, DJ Irwan, Girls Love DJ’s and more. In that way, a perfect variation was provided from the beginning, till the end. Every dj performed with a different vibe, but all of them made the crowd GO! They made the 8 hours go very fast, of course in combination with the audience, but I’ll describe the atmosphere later!

Organisation
There were only a few tickets left on doorsale at the start of the event. It showed the popularity of the event, especially when you keep in mind that the club has 3 floors and three stages. The event was definitely organised well, there were zero problems throughout the whole night. Of course the organisation is also responsible for the location and lineup, which I earlier mentioned to be very well organised. It’s not the first time that they created the Poesjes & Katers Event, since the Thursday often is a Poesjes & Katers day at club NYX. Luckily they increased the event to an even higher level for this special edition. They did this nothing less than perfect!

Audience
One of the most important keys to a successful nights is the audience. Are they willing to party, is the atmosphere positive, are they having a good time? All important questions that could be answered with a big YES for this event. There were a lot of different types of people and it worked right from the start. People went absolutely nuts and with every dj playing his own style, they never got bored. Luckily this event wasn’t too crowded, but every stage was filled in a good way. Also the sitdown was a big success and brought a lot of fun madness on the dance floor.

Conclusion
When we take a look at all our points, we can definitely say that this night was more than successful. Club NYX provided us the sickest location of ADE, the lineup gave us goosebumps and all the dj’s brought something new, the organisation brought us a well organised event with absolutely zero problems at all, the audience went bananas and had a good time from the first second. It’s hard to find a negative thing, let’s say the negative point was that it didn’t last one or two hours longer?
