Bastian Salbart – Can People Fly EP [February 17 – High Contrast Recordings]

Too many people forget about trance music these days. It can be all about big-room, and a fat kick, but sometimes all you need is a beautiful melody. Cue Bastian Salbart: who has come through with a brand new EP featuring a fantastic combination of both trance and progressive house, titled the “Can People Fly EP”. Of course, the Poland native has released plenty of big tracks before, highlighted by “One More Day,” which came out recently on High Contrast Recordings.

As I mentioned above, the EP features 2 tracks: 1 that is progressive house, and 1 being trance. “Can People Fly” begins with a powerful sequence highlighted by a pounding bassline, and an energetic set of arps. However, this sound gives way into a very trancey breakdown, and sounds builds back up into a progressive house drop. Track 2 is titled “Yes We Can,” and encompasses a dominant trance vibe throughout. Starting from the melody, and leading all the way through the climax, Bastian Salbart shows off his ability to craft beautiful trance, while at the same time, showing his versatility as a house music producer as well
