Ivan Gough & Jebu – Noxu [February 24 – Size Records]

2014 will definitely prove it: Size Matters. The label run by ex-SHM member Steve Angello has brought out another specimen of tremendous house production, this time from Australians Ivan Gough and Jebu. These guys are definitely familiar with each other, having released “Kukatu” together on Size Records back in 2013. These two definitely have the proper chemistry to work out a collaboration, and “Noxu” definitely demonstrates that.

The melody in this track is quite strong, but this one is definitely about the vibes. The melody is made up of a strong lead, and some groovy raps as well. The build on “Noxu” is almost too long, but it definitely increases the suspense in the atmosphere. The drop is a strong percussive drop, but not big-room like most house is these days. The sound is great, and one that both Ivan Gough and Jebu have been able to perfect over their many hours in the studio.
