Ummet Ozcan – Smash [Coming Soon – Spinnin’ Records]
At this point, if there is an ID coming on Spinnin’ Records, its probably the work of Ummet Ozcan. The Dutch DJ with Turkish roots was the man behind “Raise Your Hands,” and tried to pull off a little more trickery by teasing “Smash” is yet another one of those mysterious ID teasers. Fortunately, it wasn’t difficult to decipher the sound of the track as being the signature sound of Ummet Ozcan. Most people thought it was a collaboration between him and a myriad of others, including Martin Garrix, Showtek, and a few others. Those rumors have been squashed, and “Smash” is clearly just a brand-new solo banger coming soon from Ummet Ozcan.
The break begins with the slow decay of a “turn it up” sample. Soon after, the melodic madness in full Ummet Ozcan style begins. The melody evolves after a few bars as it takes on a more full-fledged sound with the addition of some lower frequencies and harmonies. That “turn it up” sample makes its return during the buildup, as the main melody filters down as the percussion raises the energy level higher. The next sample proclaims, “Let’s get this party jumping!” and that is exactly what “Smash” does next. That trademark Ummet Ozcan bass kick comes firing through the speakers, along with a louder version of the melody. Even though only Ummet Ozcan and Martin Garrix have dropped this track so far, more support is bound to be around the corner.
With no concrete release date announced just yet, we will be sure to keep you guys updated about the progress of “Smash”. Enjoy!
