Voting for DJ Mag Top 100 2015 Edition Begins
That time of summer is here: voting for this year’s edition of the DJ Mag Top 100 poll begins today at 12:00 p.m. British Summer Time.
Last year’s poll resulted in Dutchman Hardwell maintaining his grip on the #1 slot, and a huge surge from the likes of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Martin Garrix. This year’s poll is certainly up for grabs, as there appears to be a changing of the guard atop the mainstream dance music industry. The early favorite certainly seems to be Martin Garrix, who has seen a huge jump in his popularity as a result of several huge club tracks and a landmark collaboration with American vocalist, Usher. Could Garrix’s partners on “Tremor” upset his chance at #1? The Belgian duo of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have dominated the big-room industry of late, marked by high-energy DJ sets and a docket full of unreleased tunes dating back almost two years. Is 2015 the year that Armin van Buuren regains the throne? The trance titan has been knocked off his game since his win in 2012, but his track “Another You” and his sixth studio album could give him the push he needs. Or, after all of this speculation, will 2015 complete a threepeat for Hardwell? His studio album United We Are was pretty successful, and his status as incumbent might give him the advantage.
Who do you think will win it? Only time will tell, and the winner will be revealed at Amsterdam Music Festival during October’s Amsterdam Dance Event.
