Nicky Romero feat. Colton Avery – Take Me [Protocol Recordings]
After receiving a grand introduction during this year’s Tomorrowland, the next single from Nicky Romero is here. It’s called “Take Me,” and it features Colton Avery on vocals.
This track also got played out by Nicky Romero at just about all of his festival stops throughout the summer. The Protocol Recordings label boss continues to ride a hot streak in 2016, as “Take Me” marks his fourth big release this year. “Future Funk,” “Novell,” “Ready 2 Rumble” and now “Take Me” demonstrates Nicky Romero‘s skills in the studio.
This track is a bit lighter than what we’re used to from Nicky Romero. But, he has shown his dedication for getting outside of his comfort zone this year. The breakdown brings an intense feeling from Colton Avery‘s powerful vocals. Underneath, an edgy guitar and kick drum bring more dynamic sounds into the mix. The sheer emotion that comes as a result of the vocals on top of the guitar is incredible. Everything culminates in an energetic drop that employs a simple pluck sequence next to a driving bassline.
