POPOF – President EP [Form]
21st November sees prolific French DJ/producer POPOF release his latest EP, entitled ‘President‘, via his globally respected imprint, Form Music.
Kicking off the release is the title-named track, ‘President’, which addresses the upcoming US presidential election, combining comical lines from Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton with a pulsating, quirky four-on-the-floor rhythm.
The deep-groover ‘One Two’ follows, layering percussion, off-kilter pad effects and chopped-up vocals with real panache, showcasing the Parisian’s ability to create enigmatic, playful Techno.
Closing the EP is ‘Keep Colors’. Like the aforementioned tracks, POPOF once again utilises vocal snippets and samples, intricately placing them throughout the six-minute number alongside the dizzying synth patterns and a funky bass to create an energetic closing track.
