1001tracklists Announces Their Top 101 Producers of 2017 List

Until recently, there was no objective way to rank producers in the electronic music industry. Enter DJ database 1001tracklists, and their Top 101 Producers list.

The website sponsors an extensive database of DJ tracklists, cataloging as many radio shows and live performances as possible. It is also a valuable tool to fans seeking out the latest music from their favorite artists.

At the end of 2017, the site crunched the numbers from their database to make a list of the top producers of the year based solely on what they call “unique DJ support”. This system allows their list to be more than just a popularity contest.

“The rankings should not be taken as a ‘be all and end all’ list for the best producers in the world, but we feel that they offer a cool look at the artists who produced many successful tracks in 2017 in terms of instilling interest in other DJs to want to play these tracks,” the site said in their description of the rankings.
