Mason Maynard ft. Gene Farris – Make It Hot [Island]

Make It Hot’ sees Mason Maynard link up with another Chicago don, this time in the shape of Gene Farris. The Farris Wheel Recordings label head delivers his sensual vocal delivery amidst the most infectious of 303 acid basslines, as Mason delivers a refreshingly underground and club focus record from the skyrocketing talent.

“I’m super-excited about our record ‘Make it Hot,'” Gene enthuses. “Mason is like a little brother to me and we have been talking about doing something together for such a long time now. I’m very proud of this project.”

“‘Make It Hot’ started as an instrumental I’d play out just before the pandemic hit,” Mason adds. “After that, with all the extra time I found myself having, I went back to it and tried to build and expand on it as I knew it could be bigger. Around the same time Gene and I were already planning to work together, so I sent it to him and he came back a few days later with the hook and from there came the finished product which has been abusing sound systems in the gigs we’ve both had since!”
