Josh Baker, Poppy Baskcomb – My Place [Bakers Dozen]
Manchester DJ/producer Josh Baker unveils his infectious new single ‘My Place’ featuring acclaimed singer-songwriter Poppy Baskcomb, released via his fast-rising imprint Bakers Dozen.
Already becoming one of the defining tracks of Josh’s sets throughout 2026, ‘My Place’ possesses all the hallmarks of a timeless house record, pairing an irresistibly smooth rolling bassline with shimmering piano stabs, crisp percussion and an instantly memorable vocal performance from Baskcomb. Built around the infectious hook – “don’t worry bout it, when the party is over, we’ll get it started, where we’ll keep it going back to my place, want to get to know you one on one” – the track has quickly become a fan-favourite moment across dancefloors globally, with crowds singing the chorus back to Josh throughout his festival and club sets, including viral moments including viral moment from Coachella, Factory Town, Miami Music Week, Parklife and perhaps most notably, Amnesia Opening where Josh played alongside Joseph Capriati.
Already one of the most talked-about IDs across dancefloors this year, ‘My Place’ captures the magnetic energy that has propelled Baker to the forefront of the UK’s new wave of house music. Built around Baskcomb’s addictive vocal and crisp late-night percussion, the record radiates peak-time energy as soon as the slick, rolling low-end groove locks in. Floating effortlessly above the production, Baskcomb’s infectious hook – “where we can keep it going back to my place, want to get to know you one on one” – turns the track into a hands-in-the-air moment, elevating the track into a feel-good crossover anthem that leaves an undoubted lasting impact.
Speaking on the release, Josh says: “‘My Place’ has been one of those records that seemed to connect on the dancefloor from the moment I started playing it. There seems to be real anticipation on the record, people having been singing it back for months now. From the Amnesia Terrace to Coachella and EDC in the States, it’s had some huge moments already. I loved working with Poppy, it was one of those sessions where it all came together, we knew we had something within a couple of hours. Poppy brought so much personality and emotion to the track and really helped turn it into something that feels timeless, while still being made for the dancefloor.”
