Marsh – Home [Marshan]
or Marsh, Home is more than the title of an album. It is a continued exploration of what the idea of home can mean – and what it might mean beyond the lives we know here… an ultimate destination beyond this life. That belief sits quietly beneath the album, informing its themes of love, loss, belonging, connection and longing.
Spanning 14 tracks, Home moves between atmospheric ambient, progressive house, euphoric trance, acid textures and Drum & Bass, bringing together the different influences that have shaped Marsh throughout his career. His love of the emotionally rich trance records of the early 2000s sits alongside his fascination with the musicality and energy of crossover Drum & Bass, while ambient passages, organic instrumentation and progressive electronics give the record a sense of space and movement. Collaboration is also central to the album, with ALLKNIGHT, Leo Wood, Phenoir and Lyves each bringing their own voice and perspective to Home.
“If Only”, a collaboration with Lyves and Phenoir, introduces another side of Marsh’s musical world. A reflection on unconditional love, the track explores the desire to protect someone and give them everything they need, while recognising that sometimes the greatest act of love is giving them the freedom to find their own way. Lyves’ distinctive vocals bring an added sense of vulnerability to Marsh and Phenoir’s production, capturing the tension between holding on and letting go, and ultimately wanting nothing more than to see someone you love soar. This emotional dynamic sits naturally within the wider themes of Home. The track is dedicated by Tom and Cameron (Phenoir) to Roseanne, Cameron’s mother, as a personal tribute to someone who played an important part in both their lives, and to the memories, love and support she gave them.
The album has already revealed its range through a series of singles. The title track “Home” introduced Marshan Records in July, establishing the musical and visual identity of this new chapter. “Aloft / Too High” followed with a euphoric two-part journey from weightless ambience into driving progressive house, while “One Love” featuring Lyves pushed into liquid Drum & Bass, built around a live 24-piece string orchestra. Most recently, “Run Away” featuring ALLKNIGHT explored another side of the album’s emotional world – the idea that finding the right person can make anywhere feel like home.
Rather than existing as separate departures, these different sounds form part of the same musical language. Home is expansive without losing the warmth, melody and emotional depth that have defined Marsh’s work throughout his career.
The album also marks a major new chapter for Marsh as an independent artist. Home is his first fully independent album and the inaugural full-length release on Marshan Records, giving Tom the freedom to create and release the music on his own terms. The label takes its name from the “Marshans”, the affectionate term adopted by Marsh’s fan community. There is an additional connection to the idea behind Home: the notion that perhaps we are all a little like Martians, living temporarily away from the place we ultimately call Home. For Marsh, the label therefore represents not only a new home for his music, but a community of people travelling through the same world together.
After a decade-long rise, Home arrives at a significant point in Marsh’s career. Across three previous album – Life On The Shore (2017), Lailonie (2020) and Endless (2023) – he has built a devoted international following around his distinctive melodic and progressive sound.
That audience has continued to grow through an increasingly ambitious live career, with Marsh performing at Red Rocks Colorado, Coachella, The Gorge and London’s Royal Naval College, while selling out London’s fabric Room 1 twice for seven-hour All Night Long performances. His latest live set surpassed 150,000 YouTube views within its first week, further reflecting the scale of the community that has grown around his music.
The release of Home will be followed by the Home Tour, beginning in November and continuing throughout 2027. The first headline dates take place at Melkweg Amsterdam on 7 November, Roundhouse London on 13 November and Central Chapelle Paris on 14 November.
The London show will be a particular centrepiece of the campaign, with Marsh bringing Home to the iconic Roundhouse for a three-hour performance built around the album. Live vocal performances from ALLKNIGHT, Leo Wood and Lyves will be combined with custom stage, lighting and visual production designed to immerse the audience in the world of Home. The show is already nearing a complete sell-out.
Ultimately, Home leaves the listener with a question to explore for themselves – not simply “what is home?”, but something deeper: is there more after this life? Is there an eternal Home to come? Tom feels certain about his own answer, but hopes the album encourages others to consider that question for themselves. The musical breadth of the record, the independence of Marshan Records and this new chapter in his career are all important parts of Home, but ultimately they sit alongside a deeper idea: the question of eternity.
