The Cause FM: New Frequency arrives at a moment when music discovery is increasingly shaped by platforms, feeds and recommendation systems. While algorithms can help listeners discover music, independent broadcasters play a different role: connecting audiences with the people, places and ideas that surround it. Through trusted selectors, local scenes and communities built around shared musical curiosity, these platforms continue to create space for discovery, exchange and culture beyond the limits of an automated recommendation.
More than a festival line-up, The Cause FM: New Frequency is a meeting point for the people building music culture from the ground up. Bringing together broadcasters, artists, selectors, curators and communities from across continents, it creates a rare space for the people driving grassroots music scenes to meet, exchange ideas and build connections across cities and bordersThe festival also marks the beginning of a new chapter for The Cause FM, ahead of the station’s relaunch later this summer.
