Michael Calfan Remixes “Reverie” For Marcus Schössow On Axtone Records
Marcus Schössow‘s debut release on Axtone Records could definitely be catagorized as a success. “Reverie” received more than 85 from his DJ peers, and was featured on the biggest stages, including Tomorrowland. As promised by Axwell, “Reverie” has been given a remix treatment by French progressive standout, Michael Calfan, who is known for his track, “Resurrection,” which has become a staple over time. This new take on “Reverie” shows a darker side of Calfan’s production style, also showcasing the original beauty from Schössow’s composition.
Michael maintains the original melody, while adding his touch to the breakdown through percussion and FX. The breakdown lasts for about 45 seconds, before building into a whirlwind of sound. When the track finally does drop, you wouldn’t believe it was produced by Michael Calfan. Michael shows us a sound he has never exhibited before, opting to exchange his trademark progressive chords for dark, minimal percussion sounds.
Michael’s take on “Reverie” will be released on Axtone Records within the next few weeks, although there is no exact release date set. For now, enjoy the preview, or tune into Axwell or Sebastian Ingrosso‘s sets from Tomorrowland; they both feature this remix of “Reverie”!
