Adapter’s Party Playlist
Antonio Russo aka Adapter is from Naples (Italy), and since he was young he has developed a passion for music. A big fan of the 80/90’s, he started to play piano and percussion at the age of 10. He played in the first club very young at 16 and started to produce music at 22. His sound is an experimentation of the influences of the 80/90s combined with modern ones.
Adapter has had releases on some of the genre’s most well-loved labels, including Riva Starr’s Snatch! Records and Green Velvet’s Relief, and he most recently released ‘Skate Dancer’ via Hot Creations, available HERE. From these label accomplishments, he has cemented his status as one of the scene’s true heavy-hitters. The constant international rising of Adapter seems to be not finished yet and the only question left is: “What’s Next?”.
Adapter has also dropped an exclusive Party Playlist via Dance Rebels to celebrate his Hot Creations release too! Listen below:
Adapter – Skate Dancer [Hot Creations] I’ve always had a strong passion for 80s music. Thanks to my father, I keep and collect vinyl from that era. This track, thanks to the nice movement of the bass, emphasizes the vocal and makes it cheerful and danceable. Whenever I hear it it’s not possible to not dance and the track immediately gives you a strong feeling that takes you to the 80s.
Italobros – La vie en rose [Knee Deep In Sound] A crazy and talented duo. This one has got the right sound for me. La vie en rose expresses a journey full of melodies and rhythms with the addition of an incredible vocal. It recalls something already heard but makes it truly magical. I want to be running in a prairie in the middle of nature hearing this record!
Leon – Disco 3000 [Hot Creations] Leon is a very dear friend of mine and as soon as I listened to the record I immediately added it to my playlist. This track takes me back in time. The vocal is crazy and especially for the fact that it lasts throughout the break. The times and rhythms are just right. Leon really did a good job on this.
Patrick Topping, Hayley Topping – New Reality [Trick] I love the sound of Patrick. It fits very well with my tastes, especially this track which has some strong and emotional synths in it. The addition of Hayley’s vocals is perfect with the rest of the rhythms. For me it is the record of the year and one that brings us back to that 90’s dance that is typical of Patrick’s tastes.
Jamie Jones, Nicole Moudaber – Pepper Shake [Hot Creations] On this track you can hear Indian influences combined with crazy rhythms and bass that gives it the right pace. Jamie and Nicole have produced a banger track that gives you strong feelings and emotions. Impossible not to add this one to the playlist. There’s a god work and an amazing heart inside this track. Love it!
Marco Faraone, Greeko – Armaghetton [Defected] Marco and Greeko put all their potential into this track. The hip-hop vocal is reminiscent of an old Run DMC record. It’s special how the voices combine with this overbearing bass. A really strong and danceable record. We’ll hear a lot about this track I think.
Detlef – Dub Clap [Issues] My friend Alex doesn’t miss a beat. I had to select this record for the playlist because of the crazy vocal that he put in it. It’s amazing how the bass gives the right rhythm to the rest of the track. Alex is a great producer and it really shows in this track. He manages to articulate the entire drafting of the track well and make it unique.
Classmatic – Faux Francais [Solid Grooves Raw] Classmatic is a good producer too who I have been following for some time now. This track has a vocal that cannot be explained by me because it is in French but it goes up up and up until the beat kicks in. A really brilliant idea. A real banger of a track.
Damian Lazarus, Jem Cooke – Into The Sun [Crosstown Rebels] When you talk about art, melodies, vocal expression, the essence of a record; everything is enclosed in this track. It is a trip to a different world. When I first heard it I was on the sofa and I entered another dimension. Really great work, this one speaks for itself.
Louie Vega, The Martinez Brothers, Marc E. Bassy – Let It Go (Dom Dolla remix) [Defected] The original of this was already a great record but the remix made it more dancefloor focused. The rhythm is perfect on this one and works great with the atmosphere and movement of the vocal. In the break when the pad enters it gives the right feeling to the audience. A really nice remix.
